Mt. McKinley
Top picture is Mt. Foraker on left at 17,400 ft., and Mt McKinley on the right at 20,320 ft. The lower picture is Mt McKinley alone, and clearly shows both of its peaks. The south and north peaks are collectively known as the Churchill Peaks.

Lucky Me
Do I ever wish I had been a shop-teacher? Yeah, some days I do. But then I have days like this and think 'How lucky am I, to be doing a job as cool as this?'

Returning from Dutch Harbor
What a lineup!
I think this is Mt Veniaminof again. I know what you are wondering...is that steam? Yes, yes it is. Pretty good view from the top of the world...

Here We Go...
First off, a big Thank You to my number one fan for getting me back to my post!
If memory and my handy charts agree, this is Mt Veniaminof, on the Aleutian chain. We did a recent trip to Dutch Harbor (a.k.a. - Unalaska) When the weather is nice I get to take these sweet photos!

Sling-Load
At this point I decided helicopters might be cooler than I previously indicated.
No they did not disappear, it was a nice clear blue day. Captured for posterity. Or possibly I was aiming my camera on the fly for another helicopter photo and missed it, the world may never know.

Remember These?
We have a friend that flew this fling-wing thing for awhile. As I recall, it's pretty sweet - for a helicopter that is.

Nuiqsut Part 2
Still on the whale haul flights, but the light was just right for more shadow pictures. Nuiqsut is about 51nm west of Deadhorse. The river banks visible are from the Nechelik river, a short leg off the longer and better known Colville river.

To Nuiqsut, with Whale
Hauled some whale to Nuiqsut. Good thing the weather was nice, because the whale smelled awful! Let me just say that over the course of four trips, eight pieces of peppermint gum was not enough.
